Greetings all
It's been great to be on the boat again and to see some friends I
haven't seen in a while. The sunsets have been beautiful, and the
breezes have been very welcome in this heat. It is great therapy.
Today I joined Gordon's family and we scattered Gordon's ashes in Lake
Michigan, joining his brother Arne, my canine first mate Cap'n Jack, and
many other Jackson Park sailors as guardians of "his" lake. It was a
beautiful day, and we sailed to his favorite buoy. Although there never
really will be closure, this is the best ritual we could have had.
Tomorrow afternoon I plan on sailing again, if the storms hold off. I
hope to make it out one weeknight this week, and for a sunrise sail on
Friday morning. I drive out the DC later that day.
I'm still planning on coming the weekend of August 11th and Labor Day
weekend, so keep in touch if you'd like to visit with me and sail on the
Sloop.
