Cruisers and crew--

Better late than never, the mast finally got up (thanks to Gordon, Igor, 
Thomas, and Andy), the boat is rigged (ditto, and also Eric), and, last 
night, we successfully had our first sail!  Thomas, Laura, Igor and I had a 
nice sunset cruise out past the crib and back in nice 9-12 knot winds and 
gentle 1-foot seas.  About 20 minutes after the sails were up and the motor 
off, the reality finally hit me and I screamed "We're sailing!"  It was a 
wonderful moment, however late in coming.

I plan to get out as much as possible while still being a bit gentle to the 
boat so "weather permitting" will probably be a bit more limited than it 
has been in the past.  First opportunity for those of you who get this in 
time, is tomorrow, Saturday July 30th, at 11 am.  We want to get out and 
back so my north siders can avoid the Venetian night traffic back home.  I 
have space for three, maybe four people.  Let me know by phone as soon as 
possible if you want to come.

We're planning to go out on Wednesday night and next Saturday, and if I can 
get some crew I'd love to go out next Friday, August 5th, to celebrate 
being done with summer term.  The rest of the schedule is below.

___Saturday 7/30
Lunchtime cruise.  Meet at the harbor at 1100 hours.  Bring something to 
grill and something to share.

___Wednesday 8/3
Evening sail.  Meet at the harbor at 1830 hours.  We'll be leaving the dock 
around 1900 hours.

___Friday 8/5
Midday sail, crew permitting.  Meet at the harbor at 1200 hours.

___Saturday 8/6
Lunchtime cruise.  Meet at the harbor at 1100 hours.

___Sunday 8/7
Afternoon cruise.  Meet at the harbor at 1300 hours.

___Tuesday 8/9
Evening sail.  Meet at the harbor at 1830 hours.  We'll be leaving the dock 
around 1900 hours.

___Saturday 8/13
Lunchtime cruise.  Meet at the harbor at 1100 hours.

___Wednesday 8/17
Evening sail.  Meet at the harbor at 1830 hours.  We'll be leaving the dock 
around 1900 hours.

___Saturday 8/20
Air and Water show cruise.  Meet at the harbor at 0900 so we can get up 
north in time to see the planes!  Bring something to grill, something to 
share and a lot of water!  It's a long day.

___Saturday 8/21
Rain date for Air and Water show cruise.  We'll only go if we don't get to 
go on Saturday.  Same details as above.
