[Sloop Scoop 2005] #4 August 25 - September 5

Ahoy again--

August has been its windy self, and we've actually had rain so we've only 
made it out a couple of times.  We did get the see the fireworks, (alas not 
the meteors) and we also made it out for the air show.  We didn't see 
anything fall of an airplane into the water as the news reported so I'll 
call that a successful outing for us.  We had our own excitement with the 
fresher than forecasted winds  both sailing and docking, with the Vangpire 
taking a couple of unplanned trapeze trips with the boom (thanks to a 
hardware glitch, but she did manage *not* to end up in the water--brava!).

I'll be in Wisconsin for a faculty retreat for a couple of days--I can 
check e-mail but I probably won't be quick with replies.  I plan on sailing 
Sunday afternoon, and possibly later on Saturday if I have crew and 
interest and am not worn out from course marshalling the Kids Triathlon 
with Skate Patrol on Saturday morning.

We hope to get out a few times over Labor Day and want to have a slumber 
party and sunrise sail and swim either on Sunday or Monday.  My plan is to 
sail a least once in October so we still have a month of opportunity for 
weekend or weeknight sails.  If there's a time you want to go, let me know 
and I'll see if I can schedule it.

SCHEDULE (many things permitting . . .)

___Saturday 8/27
Tentative afternoon cruise.  Meet at the harbor at 1500 hours.

___Sunday 8/28
Afternoon cruise.  Meet at the harbor at 1400 hours.  We'll probably get 
back around 1730 hours.

___Tuesday 8/30
Evening sail.  Meet at the harbor at 1830 hours.  We'll be leaving the dock 
around 1900 hours.

___Saturday 9/3
TBA but we will go out sometime

___Sunday 9/4
Evening cruise and sleepover for those interested.  Meet at the harbor at 
1900 hours.

___Monday 9/5
Sunrise cruise.  Meet at the harbor at 0530 hours unless you are sleeping 
on the boat and already there.  Sunrise is around 0620 hours and we need to 
be out on the water well before then!  We will make coffee!
