II. HELP!!! Skipper Schuy needs things and crew for the show. Please read
below
I. Come to the show!!
As you may or may not have seen in an earlier e-mail ; ) I am having a
multimedia show on March 8th 2003 (that a week from this coming Saturday)
from 4-7 PM at Augustana Lutheran Church in Hyde Park (5500 S. Woodlawn
Avenue). It's a gift to you and the world for my 40th birthday, consisting
of art, photography, installation, and performances of writing and original
music.
An electronic invitation (with pictures and prose and further details) and
directions are available at
www.jewellgems.com/multimedia/
It's a pdf file you can download--I'm still working on the HTML page.
Join us, and PLEASE RSVP! You may come without an RSVP, but the food may
run out if you don't RSVP. Guests are welcome, as are kids.
II. HELP!!
Your skipper needs YOU! I'm realizing the truth of the mantra "You can do
anything, but you can't do everything" -- in life as well as on the
boat. If you can help in any of the following ways, BODIES or STUFF
*please let me know* so we can coordinate someone else may follow up with
you on this!
BODIES--
1. Set up crew/rehearsal party -- Friday March 7th, 6:30 pm -- 8:30 (this
is my actual birthday)
2. Pre Show set up -- 2 -- 4 pm, Saturday, March 8th
3. During the show shifts/special jobs
--watch the food and drink table--keep it relatively neat, remove empty
bottles, etc
--greet and orient people (a couple of people from the church can help
orient you to orient),
--run a slide projector following a script
--retune a guitar after performances
--provide security (watch the front door. This is backup to security we're
working on acquiring)
--take photographs (digital or film)
--shoot video (ditto)
--walk around as a roving reporter with a tape recording device to capture
audio comments (we're having "official" sound--this is more "snapshot" sound)
--draw, paint, write, sing, sculpt, cut & paste whatever at the multiYOUdia
installation (this is the multimedia "guestbook" that I'd love people to
play with)
--help the sound tech (he/she's in charge, but may need extra ears and hands)
4. Strike the show, clean up (it has to be back to normal for worship on
Sunday) get stuff back to my apartment (1/2 block away)
5. Emotional Support and brain extension--before and during the show!
STUFF
--supplementary appetizers (we do have a caterer but we could use a little
more help)
--bottle of pop/soda or wine
--music stands
--easels
--disposable flash cameras (for the multiYOUdia installation)
--extension cords (25 - 50 foot)
--power strips--surge protectors like for computers (loan)
--slide projector (loan--you can be operator if you wish)
--video projector (loan and you as operator preferably)
--laptop computer (loan--you'd probably want to stay by that, too!)
--8 channel mixer (this is backup in case the current plans fall through)
--amplifier (this is backup in case the current plans fall through)
--DA38, DA88, or ADAT multitrack recorder (this is backup in case the
current plans fall through)
--dynamic cardiod microphones, and condenser cardiod microphones (this is
backup in case the current plans fall through)
--audio cables (RCA to XLR, XLR mic cables)
